Indoor Air Quality Systems We Install

Kaiser installs the full range of residential indoor air quality (IAQ) equipment. The right system for your home depends on what you’re trying to solve — allergens, dust, dry air, humidity, odors, or general contamination.

Whole-home HEPA filtration system designed to capture airborne allergens, dust, and fine particles

HEPA Filtration Systems

HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filtration captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns — including dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and many bacteria. Whole-home HEPA systems integrate with your existing HVAC; portable units cover single rooms.

UV germicidal lights installed in HVAC systems to reduce bacteria, viruses, and mold growth

UV Germicidal Lights

UV-C lights installed in the air handler or ductwork kill bacteria, viruses, mold spores, and other microbiological contaminants as air passes through the system. Particularly valuable in Ventura County's coastal humidity, which can promote mold growth in HVAC equipment.

Carrier electrostatic air cleaner installed in an HVAC system to capture airborne particles and improve indoor air quality

Electrostatic Air Cleaners

These use electrically-charged plates to capture airborne particles. Lower ongoing cost than disposable HEPA filters (the plates are washable and reusable), but slightly lower particle-capture efficiency.

Carrier whole-home humidifier integrated with an HVAC system for automatic indoor humidity control

Whole-Home Humidifiers

Combat dry winter air that can cause dry skin, respiratory irritation, static electricity, and damage to wood floors and furniture. Integrated with your HVAC for hands-off operation.

Carrier whole-home dehumidifier integrated with an HVAC system to reduce excess indoor humidity

Whole-Home Dehumidifiers

Reduce humidity in homes that experience moisture problems — common in coastal Oxnard and Ventura. Reduces mold growth, dust mite populations, and that "muggy" feeling even when temperatures are reasonable.

Carrier Infinity whole-home air purifier integrated with a residential HVAC system

Carrier Infinity Air Purifier

Kaiser is an Authorized Carrier dealer; the Carrier Infinity Air Purifier captures and kills selected airborne pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, mold, and pet dander. Works with Carrier Infinity HVAC systems for whole-home protection.

Smart indoor air quality sensors and HVAC controls monitoring temperature, humidity, and air quality

Smart IAQ Monitoring

Modern systems include sensors that monitor particulate matter, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), humidity, and COâ‚‚ — giving you visibility into what's actually in your air and automatically adjusting filtration/ventilation in response.

Common Indoor Air Quality Problems We Solve

Across 44 years of Ventura County IAQ work, certain issues come up repeatedly. Here’s what to know:

Persistent allergies even indoors

If anyone in the home has allergy symptoms that don’t improve when you stay inside — often the cause is indoor allergens (pet dander, dust mites, mold spores) circulating through the HVAC system. HEPA filtration or UV light usually addresses it.

Excessive dust, especially around HVAC registers, suggests either inadequate filtration (filter rating too low), filter not being changed often enough, or duct leaks pulling unfiltered air from attics/crawl spaces.

Often indicates moisture in the HVAC system — typically in the evaporator coil or condensate drain. Common in coastal Ventura County. UV light prevents the microbial growth that causes the odor; a thorough cleaning addresses the existing problem.

Ventura County winters can drop indoor humidity well below the 30-50% comfort range. A whole-home humidifier solves it.

AC removes some humidity as it cools, but in homes with significant moisture intrusion (coastal, irrigation overspray, poor ventilation), the AC can’t keep up. A dehumidifier integrated with the HVAC handles it.

Inadequate kitchen ventilation combined with insufficient whole-home air exchange. Often solvable with kitchen range hood upgrades plus an ERV (energy recovery ventilator) to bring in fresh outdoor air.

Sometimes a COâ‚‚ problem (inadequate ventilation), sometimes a VOC issue (off-gassing from new flooring, furniture, paint). An IAQ monitor identifies which.

  • Indoor Air Quality Service in Tier 1 Cities

Camarillo. Inland Camarillo sees less humidity than the coast but more dust during dry months. Filtration is usually the bigger lever here than dehumidification. See our Camarillo HVAC services →

Oxnard. Coastal Oxnard homes commonly need moisture management — dehumidifiers, UV lights in the air handler, and corrosion-resistant equipment. Kaiser knows the coastal HVAC environment. See our Oxnard HVAC services →

Ventura. Mixed homes — beach-area properties need moisture management; hillside homes need allergen filtration during fire/dust events. Different solutions for different parts of the city. See our Ventura HVAC services →

Thousand Oaks. Larger Thousand Oaks homes often benefit from multi-zone IAQ approaches — different zones can have different filtration based on use patterns. Kaiser configures this regularly. See our Thousand Oaks HVAC services →

Westlake Village. Custom Westlake homes frequently pair Carrier Infinity HVAC with the Carrier Infinity Air Purifier for whole-home premium IAQ. Kaiser is factory-trained on this lineup. See our Westlake Village HVAC services →

    Managing Indoor Air Quality

    Humidity Control

Maintaining indoor humidity between 30%–60% can help limit mold growth and reduce allergens such as dust mites and cockroaches.

    Ventilation

Mechanical ventilation systems remove moisture and airborne pollutants by exchanging indoor air with outdoor air.

    Cleaning & Filtration

    • High-efficiency vacuum filtration
    • HVAC filtration designed to capture airborne particles
    • Regular maintenance of air-handling systems

    Equipment Maintenance & Replacement

Aging HVAC and air management equipment may lose efficiency over time. Newer systems support advanced filtration and air cleaning technologies.

How Much Does an Indoor Air Quality System Cost?

IAQ system pricing varies more than most HVAC equipment because the range of options is so wide — from simple high-efficiency filter upgrades (modest cost) to whole-home Carrier Infinity Air Purifier installations (significantly more).

Frequently Asked Questions About Indoor Air Quality

Do I need an IAQ system if I already have a good HVAC filter?

Standard HVAC filters (MERV 8-11) handle large particles but miss smaller allergens, bacteria, viruses, and VOCs. If anyone in the home has allergies, asthma, or respiratory issues, dedicated IAQ equipment provides protection a standard filter doesn’t.
They solve different problems. HEPA captures particles (dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores). UV kills microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, mold growth in the system itself). Many homes benefit from both.
Partially. Activated carbon filters help with odors, but the bigger lever is proper kitchen ventilation. Kaiser can address both during the IAQ assessment.
Yes, dedicated HEPA filtration significantly reduces wildfire smoke particles in the home. Sealing the home against outdoor air during smoke events also matters. Kaiser walks through the full wildfire-readiness approach.

Yes. As an Authorized Carrier dealer, Kaiser installs the full Carrier IAQ lineup including the Carrier Infinity Air Purifier.

The Kaiser Care Maintenance Plan (starting at $8.25/month) includes annual inspection and filter replacement on integrated IAQ systems. Standalone IAQ equipment can be added to the plan.
Depends on the specific equipment. HEPA filters typically every 6-12 months. UV bulbs every 12-24 months. Electrostatic plates need cleaning quarterly. Kaiser walks through the maintenance schedule when we install.
